What is an Intermediate Apprenticeship?

An intermediate apprenticeship in marketing will see you work towards achieving the following:

NVQ level 2 Certificate in Marketing
BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Marketing
Level 1 Functional Skills Certificates in Maths, English and I.T
ERR (Employment Rights and Responsibilities)

An Intermediate Apprenticeship is equivalent to 5 GCSE’s at A-C level and once completed to you could progress on to an Advanced Apprenticeship or straight in to a marketing role.

It usually take between 12 and 18 months to complete an Intermediate Apprenticeship and there are no formal entry requirements, although some employers may prefer you to have some GCSE’s or to have completed a traineeship beforehand.

What will I learn?

The level 2 Marketing NVQ qualification will consist of  4 mandatory and some additional optional units. The optional units will be picked by your employer to complement the work you will be carrying out in the role.

The mandatory units include:

Collect and organise market research data
Contribute to measuring the marketing response
Work with other people in a business environment
Improve own performance in a business environment

Examples of some of the optional units:

Use digital and social media in marketing
Plan and organise an event
Analyse competitor activity
